Split PDF
Split a single PDF into several documents. Extract a page range into its own file, cut the document into fixed-size chunks, or burst every page into an individual PDF — then download the pieces individually or as one ZIP.
Range is for pulling pages out. Chunks and Every page produce several files.
Comma-separated ranges and open-ended spans are supported, for example 1-3, 5, 9- or 1-3,7,12-14.
Used by “Cut into fixed-size chunks”.
How split pdf works
- Choose how to cutPick a range, a fixed chunk size, or one file per page.
- Set the rangeType page numbers using commas and hyphens. Open-ended spans such as “9-” run to the last page.
- Download the piecesEach piece appears as a separate download, and multi-file results can be taken as one ZIP.
What you get
Cut one PDF into separate files by range, by count, or every page. Everything happens inside this page: the file is read by your browser, transformed in memory and handed straight back to you as a download. There is no upload queue, no waiting for a server, and nothing left behind when you close the tab.
Supported formats
Furtu accepts .pdf files up to 500 MB each — one file at a time.
- Every file is checked against its real file signature, not just its name, so a renamed or corrupt file is rejected with an explanation instead of failing halfway through.
- Files over the limit are refused up front rather than after a long wait.
Limitations, stated up front
- Cross-references and internal links between pages can point at the original page numbers, which may not match the extracted document.
- Password-protected PDFs must be unlocked first.
Frequently asked questions
How do I write a page range?
Use commas to separate parts and hyphens for spans. “1-3, 7, 12-14” selects pages 1, 2, 3, 7, 12, 13 and 14. Leaving the end open, as in “9-”, means “page 9 to the end”.
Can I get one file per page?
Yes. Choose “Every page as its own PDF”. For a long document this creates a lot of files, so Furtu offers them as a single ZIP download.
Does splitting keep the original page quality?
Yes. Pages are copied without re-rendering, so images and text stay exactly as they were.
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. The document is parsed and rewritten in your browser. Nothing is sent to a server, which matters most here, because the documents people split are often the ones they would least like uploaded.
